Did you know the average life expectancy can vary by as much as 14 years depending on where you live in Arizona?  Did you know that Arizona has seen an 85% drop in teen pregnancy in the past decade? And did you know Arizona has lower rates of cancer and heart disease than the nationwide average?

You can learn all of this and more by joining us Tuesday, December 18 for a live webcast highlighting data that will be released in the 2019 State Health Assessment.

To better understand the health status of Arizonans, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) released the first State Health Assessment (SHA) in 2014. The assessment includes analysis of data from the community and information from a variety of sources, combined with input from partners across the state. The SHA was also the basis for developing the current Arizona Health Improvement Plan (AzHIP), which is in the third year of implementation.

As a key component to maintaining our public health accreditation, a new SHA must be released every five years. With an increased focus on health disparities and the social and environmental impacts on health, ADHS kicked off the process for our next SHA earlier this year.

To share the preliminary assessment data, ADHS is hosting a live webcast on Tuesday, December 18, from 9 a.m – 11 a.m. Join us for a snapshot of the data, covering topics such as population demographics and social and environmental impacts on health.

Please visit this link to stream the webcast on the day of the event. There will be a survey posted online after the presentation for viewers to provide comments. We value all input and wish to get feedback before the final report is released in the spring of 2019.
